Rally Obedience is a fun and fast-growing sport.  Dogs and owners navigate a marked course (on-leash in novice levels and off leash at advanced levels) and perform a variety of exercises as they go through the course.  Owners can talk to and encourage their dogs during competition which makes this sport more relaxed than traditional competition obedience.  This is a great choice for owners who would like to have fun with their dogs while practicing manners and teaching new skills.  It's also a great class for obedience enthusiasts who enjoy the thrill of competition sport.  Check out the AKC Rally web site for more information.  Remember, all dogs can now compete in AKC events, including mixed breeds.
Prerequisite: Club member or skills comparable to those learned in our Foundation Manners classes.  Dog must be dog- and people-friendly.

We offer Canine Good Citizen® testing several times each year.  The CGC program, established in 1989 by the American Kennel Club to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well-mannered dogs, is a short behavioral evaluation of common skills necessary for good canine citizenship.  Dogs demonstate they can greet people politely, walk through a crowd courteously, come when called as well as several other basic skills.  Any dog can become a good canine citizen. There are no breed restrictions.  The test is open to all dogs.

Competition & Fun Classes
Did you know?  Any dog can now participate in AKC competitive sports.  If your dog is one of the many all American breeds, a little of this, a little of that, a rescue, or maybe recognized by an organization other than AKC, you can still have fun with your dog in AKC Rally, Obedience and more.  The AKC Canine Partners program allows any dog to register to participate in AKC sports.  Click here to find out more.
